The following is an account from Capt. Tucker Brubaker, one of the fishing instructors who will be happy to take you ocean fishing on your next trip to the Sporting Club:

It was one of those days you dream about before you wake up to go fishing. Capt. Todd Platt and I got the Snooks on the boat a little late in the morning. However, it was no problem because the sea was calm and the sun was out and we were about to pull in the ultimate catch.

We made record time to the new Wahoo spot that Todd Platt had been researching earlier in the week. We got the riggers out and dropped the lines to troll south while looking for birds and weed lines. It only took about forty minutes and then bam!!! Three lines start screaming and in about 20 minutes Mr. Snook had reeled in a fifty pounds Wahoo. Todd stuck the fish right in the eyeball with the gaff and neatly slid the Wahoo into the fish box. The next words out of both our mouths were, “we are turning around and hitting that spot one more time before we call it a day”. Twenty minutes later, we were hooked up again with another giant Wahoo. I have to admit; I could not control myself and jumped in the water to celebrate. What an awesome Wahoo day!! Thanks to everyone that made it happen and great angling.
