It is our goal at the Turks & Caicos Sporting Club at Ambergris Cay to make your time with us a rejuvenating experience. Many of our members express interest in various forms of alternative medicine, nutrition and spiritual enhancement and we strive to satisfy this demand. Workshops on meditation, art therapy, acupuncture, Chi Gong, and ancient Chinese medicine have been very popular as part of our “In Conversation With” series and our Weekend of Wellness. These programs have been particularly popular with our members who have kids. It’s nice to know your children are in good hands at the Environmental Learning Center or out learning how to fish with Captain Brubaker while you enjoy a 5000 year old method of bringing balance to the body.

The hair-thin needles used in acupuncture can stimulate nerves, muscles and connective tissue, boosting the activity of the body’s natural painkillers. Traditional Chinese theory asserts that the needles balance the flow of energy, known as Qi or Chi. Acupuncture is used to address conditions that are aggravated by stress or low energy, including back pain, high blood pressure, migraines, allergies, insomnia, depression and chronic fatigue. Many of our members hold high stress positions and have found the therapeutic qualities of acupuncture an effective way to treat pain or even neurological conditions.
