Peter McKinney Appointed Vice President of Planning & Development For Turks & Caicos Sporting Club at Ambergris Cay
DPS Sporting Club Development Company, LLC is pleased to announce that Peter McKinney has accepted the position of Vice President of Development for Turks & Caicos Sporting Club at Ambergris Cay. In this role, he will partner with the development team and manage planning, design and construction of the private island community.
Since May 2002, Mr. McKinney has been Vice President of Development for The Greenbrier Sporting Club in West Virginia and most recently has been instrumental in the planning, construction and logistics management of Greenbrier Summit Village, the Sporting Club’s newest mountaintop community located at the 3,300-foot peak of Greenbrier Mountain.
Mr. McKinney has been partnering with the Turks & Caicos Sporting Club development team since the project’s inception and has been an invaluable resource in utilities planning, site planning and construction.
“Peter is already intimately acquainted with the Turks project, and his 24 years of experience in construction, site planning, project and logistics management are a huge asset,” said Dan Paquette, DPS’ Vice President of Planning & Development. “The success of The Greenbrier Sporting Club is due, in part, to his proven expertise. We look forward to having him on-site as Turks & Caicos Sporting Club continues to take shape.”
Peter and his wife, Fran, will relocate to Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands in February. Mr. McKinney will continue to be involved with the ongoing development at The Greenbrier Sporting Club and will spend one week a month in West Virginia until the completion of the project.
Turks & Caicos Sporting Club is the creation of DPS Sporting Club Development Company, LLC and Ambergris Cay Ltd., led by TCI residents Harold Charles and Henry Mensen. Mr. Mensen, a 20-year Turks & Caicos resident has extensive construction, property and development experiences. He was also the original owner of Ambergris Cay prior to development. Mr. Charles, founder of SkyKing airlines, has played an active role in the growth of the Turks & Caicos, in both the aviation and development industries, for more than 22 years.
